Stephanie Vie recently offered a keynote talk titled “‘It’s Still a Man’s Game’: Gender, Technology, and Gaming, or a Call for More Inclusive Digital Literacies” at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida; this talk connected her work on the harassment and aggression that women face in highly gendered technological environments, such as gaming, to the challenges faced by women in STEM fields. Her presentation worked to help attendees understand the often-unstated gendered implications of technology, and offered strategies for integrating technologies and digital literacies into the classroom in an inclusive manner.
Also, Stephanie Vie’s application for the rank of Professor was approved and will go into effect August 2018. Congratulations, Stephanie!
