Campus Location: Morgridge International Reading Center, Room 100

Russell Carpenter
Director, Noel Studio for Academic Creativity
Assistant Professor of English
Eastern Kentucky University

What role does creativity play in the ways we engage texts and technologies? In what way does creativity inspire multimodal communication design? Carpenter will take a look at these questions through examples developed in the innovative Noel Studio for Academic Creativity. Working through various projects developed in this new space, Carpenter will provide a philosophical discussion of the texts and technologies involved and then put these theories into practice by exploring a pedagogy of creativity. Using creativity as a lens, Carpenter will demonstrate how the theories of texts and technology inform nearly every aspect of innovative communication design.
